This town of less than 2000 inhabitants is a place to discover, a place to admire and feel, a place where to move practicing numerous sports (the ski resort of Valdezcaray is only a few kilometers), where to taste the best of the traditional and avant-garde gastronomy (The Echaurren restaurant has a Michelin star), where to enjoy relaxing or meeting.
It has been a reference in the textile sector for centuries (The Hijos de Cecilio Valgañón S.L. business is the continuation and legacy passed down by Cecilio Valgañón, who in around the year 1930 switched from making cloths on manually operated looms to making shawls, scarves, sashes and blankets.).

It´´s only 14 km from Santo Domingo de la Calzada, one of the most important points of the Camino de Santiago, the medieval pilgrim route stretching from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain, where tradition has it that the body of Saint James the Apostle (Spain’s patron saint) is buried.
