In response to the weekly Daily Post challenge: Surprise
I don´t know if it’s the same for you, but when I visit a monastery where there are cloistered monks or nuns I always feel an enormous curiosity about what will be on the other side of the gate.
One imagines thousands of stories that have transpired intramural over the centuries, wrenching lives, murders, endless joys, eternal sufferings …
But they are only trips of the imagination, that probably never happened and that will be forgotten when leaving the convent.
However, this time something surprising happened. Just after taking this picture, a tiny nun, looking like just arrived from another century, from another life, from another world, … appeared on the other side of the gate.
It should not be more than 1.55 meters, stooped, probably with the vertebrae crushed by the years. With many wrinkles, but with a clean, immaculate skin.
He stopped for a moment, turned to us, smiled, and continued on his way until he was lost by one of the doors.
Surprise from another world?

You are aboard the ship that will take you to distant lands.
There´s no way back. Destiny will decide what will become of our life.

I do not really like their aesthetics but the wind turbines are necessary if we believe in clean energies. They finally match with the enviroment… or not.

No matter if it´s cold or hot. Every day of the year, young bathers were going to swing in Santander at the beginning of the past century.
This statue commemorates these baths.

In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: Solitude
It´s early in the morning. The sun is just an idea in the future. You take your car and drive for half an hour and finally you park not far from the road.
That´s only the beginning. The long way to reach the top will take you more than three hours. So it´s important to start the journey as soon as possible, before the sun comes up.
You can see cows, then horses forming different groups or perhaps families, more cows and finally there´s nothing. Just some ravens looking at you in the distance.
You have been thinking about different things and work, friends, family have disappeared in your mind.
You finally reach your destination and look around you. There´s nothing but you and your thoughts.
That’s the kind of solitude that you need from to time to time. You discover again yourself and it will be easy to look ahead and get psyched for that one.
