Mozarabic art in the Tena Valley

Panticosa. The ski season is over. See you next year.

Panticosa is a pretty village in the Tena valley, in the Aragonese Pyrenees, which has a family ski resort, without the deployment of kilometers of the sister resort of Formigal, just over 15 kilometers away, but with great charm .

Some tips:
To eat, San Pietro Inn. Great grilled meats.
To rest: Panticosa spa, a few kilometers from the village.

Incense and aromas of the Pyrenees

incienso

In tourist areas there are usually shops with decorative details, with aromas, incense, ….

In Panticosa, in the Tena valley of the Aragonese Pyrenees there is one of those shops. Its name is Yerbabuena, which name is already a declaration of intentions.

It occupies two floors, on the top floor: jewelry, scents, decorative items, … And on the floor below, furniture of Pyrenean ambience, lighting, ..

If you are in this part of the Pyrenees and you pass through Panticosa, come closer, it is worth it.

The senses wake up and work intensely. You’ll like everything you see, smells, touches, ears, …

Years of history

historia

If each concentric circle marks a year and there are multiple circles, how many stories could each circle tell us?

Atardecer dorado

Golden sunset in the marsh of Lanuza. All the peace, all the inner withdrawal in a few moments that are to return … maybe tomorrow..

Evolution or involution. It all depends on you.

Evolution or involution

You walk along a quiet little town in the country and look up the old buildings that are surrounding the old s. XIV church.

You find out windows that seems to be very old, probably contemporaneous with the church but there are parts that were built later in the history. The lord of the house was probably a rich man with several servants, horses, dozens of cows,…

Huge stones were brought in to build several mansions.

The balcony is from the 19th century. Perhaps there was there a little window before. Hunger and poor harvests for years led to several houses where there was a mansion. It was neccessary to use bricks because stones were to expensive.

Evolution or involution?

The TV antenna are part of the 20th century… Every corner of the house is perhaps a bit dirty. People living there are poorer than anytime before.

Evolution or involution?

It´s like a miracle to have a look to this buildings and start dreaming of the stories that could have happened there.

But it doesn’t seem to be very clear weather it is evolution or involution.
